Documents Supporting IAF from Other Diocese

This is a handout is a collection of letters from other Dioceses in support of the IAF presented by Dick Klinge at the Parish Council meeting where Fr. John announced his decision.

Los Pequeños Pepper is an excellent information source on Alinskyian organizing.  Our friend Stephanie Block is the Editor and a frequent contributor.  She has been fighting Alinskyian organizing in New Mexico for almost twenty years.

Letter from Jo to the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus

This is a letter Jo wrote to Carl Anderson, the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus about our struggle with the IAF.  It pretty well tells the sequence of events of how we became involved with the struggle with the IAF - our "story."

JustFaith Newsletter

This link will take you to the JustFaith Newsletter.  Reading them is very enlightening.  It will help you to understand how so many wonderful, faithful, Catholic people get involved with this stuff.

On the Importance of Being Unprincipled

This essay, by John Herman Randall, Jr., has been cited in several articles as being used by the IAF in their training.  I obtained a copy from the Phi Beta Kappa Society and have included it here with their permission.  Please respect their copyright and get their permission if you copy or reprint it for anything beyond "fair use", and use proper citation.

John Herman Randall, Jr. was a prominent pragmatist philosopher in the mid-20th century.  Here is his bio.

Albuquerque Interfaith (a local affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation) Is a BAD Idea for the Catholic Church

This is an interesting presentation on why the IAF is bad for the Catholic Church.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Pray for Us.

"IAF and the Pope. In his letter of November 14, 2008, Mr. Klinge quotes Pope Benedict XVI incompletely. The quote from Deus Caritas Est—in context is as follows: The Church cannot and must not take upon herself the political battle to bring about the most just society possible. She cannot and must not replace the State. Yet at the same time she cannot and must not remain on the sidelines in the fight for justice. She has to play her part through rational argument and she has to reawaken the spiritual energy without which justice, which always demands sacrifice, cannot prevail and prosper. A just society must be the achievement of politics, not of the Church. Yet the promotion of justice through efforts to bring about openness of mind and will to the demands of the common good is something which concerns the Church deeply. (Emphasis added to highlight the section quoted by Mr. Klinge.)"

Letter to Ray Haefele on IAF

“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops, like bishops, and your religious act like religious.” (Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen)49 In order to maintain the integrity of our Catholic Church, we must stay away from the politics in which the IAF engages.  Whether a charitable institution or an institution of God, like the Catholic Church, we must remember our mission—to lift up souls, not to send people to hell, albeit with a living wage and affordable housing. That would be a scandal.

Letter to Ray Haefele on IAF

"The days of Catholic charities and agencies quietly winking at immoral practices such as contraception in opposition to Catholic faith — the institutional form of a double life — are nearly over. A social justice ideology divorcing faith from sexual morality is corrupt and damaging."

-Dr. Dominic Pedulla
