St. John the Baptist
This is the first letter we wrote at the beginning of our fight against the IAF. Jo hand delivered it to the Deacon. She was told by him that the Archbishop approved the IAF and it was going through in our parish.
A Letter from Dick Klinge, Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Oklahoma City dated November 14, 2008. Herein, Mr. Klinge addresses many issues and builds a case of support for community organizing. This letter was written to Mr. Ray Haefele. Ray was acting as a neutral liaison between Mr. Klinge and Fr. John Metzinger to address the concerns of the parishioners about the IAF. Fr. John handed a copy to Jo with the comment that it should address all of our concerns. He told her to give copies to other concerned parties.
This letter was hand delivered by us to the Archbishop after the Men's Conference on February 28, 2009. He called Jo a week later to discuss it. They discussed the IAF situation at length. He showed true Pastoral concern for us and for the situation. He promised to look into it and requested a copy of the letter we were working on in response to Mr. Klinge's letter.
Our response to Mr. Klinge's letter (addressed to Ray Haefele acting as liaison) dated March 13, 2009. In it we addressed Mr. Klinge's letter on a point by point basis. As will be obvious from reading our letter, Mr. Klinge's letter did nothing to address our concerns, rather, it inflamed them and stiffened our resolve to stop the IAF. No rebuttal of any of the points we made in this letter was ever received.
